Convergence Technology Professional

I PASSED!!!!!

While I have been working for Apollo Group over the past 6 months I have been highly exposed to Voice over IP and convergence technologies. This motivated me to become deeply rooted in the new tech and broaden my expertise and knowledge.

We currently support our own entire Avaya VOIP / Convergence Infrastructure and it was an entirely new language to me. With my network background I was able to dive in quickly though and adapt my current training into the new world.

After asking for more and current training materials I was allowed to enroll in the avaya-learning program and do virtual labs/classes directly from their site on basic administration and support for Avaya equipment. During those classes I was directed to a certification path called the ACA and CTP. Avaya Certified Associate and Convergence Technologies Professional. I passed an elective test with Avaya and soon after scheduled my CTP test along with my Co-Worker Todd McWilliams. He and I work together very well and pushed each other schedule the test and just get it done.

We both passed with flying colors and I even beat him by 2 points. MWAHAHAHAHAH! :)

The test covered Data and IP technologies, Telephony Technologies, and Convergence technologies.

We studied for about 4-5 weeks with a study guide and practice tests from the site that our work purchased for us and knocked it out on the 15 of October. Needless to say I am a very nervous test taker and am happy to have that over with and another Industry Certification under my belt.

The CTP is recognized by the following companies:
CISCO, AVAYA, MITEL, TOSHIBA, NEC, IWATSU, NORTEL, and VERTICAL
